Lydia Velarde is an artist/computer nerd living in San Diego, California with her husband, two young adults, three dogs and a cat. Early 2004 she was laid off by a computer company. She now enjoys time tending to her family and pursuing her art.

Her watercolor paintings have had gallery representation in various San Diego locations and she has been awarded 2 one-person shows at the San Diego Art Institute in Balboa Park. She varies her medium depending on the mood, dabbling in cartoons, oil, acrylic, pen and ink, watercolor and as always, filling sketchbooks.
